Uncontained LBE VR

Project Description
A three-player Free Roam VR experience that features a number of cutting-edge technologies designed to immerse players in the experience. Utilized the HTC Vive and leap motion for a wireless and controllerless experience. Additionally, the experience includes everything from spatial audio to a motion floor and temperature haptics capable of simulating heat and cold.

My Responsibilities as a Game Developer

Physical VR/AR Realignment Feature
Resolved a recurring issue where custom made physical haptics/devices would be misaligned in position compared to the virtual devices due to the unique player environment. The misalignment between the virtual and physical devices makes it very challenging for users to properly play the game, destroys immersion and could create safety issues. I researched SteamVR and what was possible within Unity and developed features that allowed recalibration of the Steam Playspace within the game and correction the virtual alignment of the space.

Player feature testing environment and Tooling
Identified that the team's testing could both be easier/faster if an in-game player feature testing environment was available. Developed an easy to use player feature testing environment that was used by all of the different teams of artists, designers and engineers. Additionally, created simple custom editor windows that allowed for quick haptics and audio testing.

Player Aim Assist Targeting System
Improved player gameplay experience through implementing an aim assistance system that can easily be adjusted by a designer.
